[UCSBGEOG-CONNECT] URGENT UPDATE regarding client software email incoming/outgoing server settings

If you are updating your Apple Mail, the information below will not work, please proceed to Apple Mail Setup Instructions.

An error has been spotted on the Connect FAQ generic settings page, and you should use the new server settings for your email software client here instead :

Therefore, the correct server settings are following:

incoming mail server type:

IMAP

incoming mail server name:

outlook.office365.com

incoming mail server port:

993

use secure connection (SSL/TLS):

yes / "normal password"

 Username:

 your UCSBNetID
(DO put @ucsb.edu at the end!)

outgoing mail server name:

smtp.office365.com

outgoing mail server port:

587

use secure connection (TLS/SSL):

STARTTLS

outgoing mail server requires authentication

yes / "normal password"
